Logan Lopez Gonzalez

Introduction

Logan Lopez Gonzalez is a Belgian countertenor born in 1996. He studied at the Conservatoire royal de Mons in Belgium and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Lopez Gonzalez is an alumnus of the National Opera Studio, La Monnaie/de Munt Academy and the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme. He made his soloist debut at 21 years old by appearing as Frantík and Grasshopper in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen at La Monnaie and as Amore in Monteverdi’s The Coronation of Poppea at Angers/Nantes Opéra, directed by Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier. At the Royal Academy of Music, Lopez Gonzalez performed the role of Oberon in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, conducted by Sian Edwards. He collaborates as a soloist with various Baroque ensembles, such as Capella Mediterranea, Il Groviglio, Le concert bourgeois, and l’Orchestre Royal de l’opera de Versailles. He has also taken part in many contemporary works and world premieres, such as Voseček’s Be my superstar at LOD muziektheater. In 2023, Lopez Gonzalez co-created 555: Verlaine en prison with stage director Eleanor Burke, a queer show about the life of the French poet Paul Verlaine. It premiered at La Monnaie in 2023 before transferring to the Grimeborn Opera Festival and the Royal Opera House, London, in 2024. Upcoming roles include that of Gloria in a staged production and CD recording of Vivaldi’s Gloria e Imeneo at Chateau de Versailles Spectacles.
