Many previous prizewinners, such as Olaf Bär, Elīna Garanča, René Pape, Kateryna Kasper, Nadine Sierra, Andrea Rost and Julia Lezhneva have later become prominent figures in the world of singing.

The international Mirjam Helin Singing Competition will be held for the first time in Turku in 2027, at the Music Centre Fuuga is scheduled to open in autumn 2026. The competition will expand into a summer festival visible throughout the city.
The Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition awards prizes in total €194,000.
