Hyejin Lee
Introduction
Hyejin Lee is a South Korean soprano born in 1993. Having earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Seoul National University with Professor Mihye Park, she obtained her Master’s from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main with Professor Klesie Kelly-Moog, followed by the Soloklasse programme at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover with Professor Sabine Ritterbusch. From 2018, Hyejin was engaged for four seasons at Theater Magdeburg, performing a wide repertoire. Since going freelance in August 2022, she has made a series of critically acclaimed debuts, including as Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor and as Rosina in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, both at the Daegu Opera House in South Korea, as Papagena in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Deutsche Oper Berlin, and as Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto at Opera på Skäret in Sweden. In 2024, she is debuting at the Korea National Opera as Elvira in Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri.
