Filip Filipović

Introduction

Filip Filipović is a Croatian tenor born in 1997. He graduated from the class of Professor Giorgio Surian at the Music Academy of Zagreb in 2023. Currently, he is an Artist in Residence at the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel in Belgium, under the guidance of José Van Dam, Sophie Koch and Stéphane Degout. He has performed as a soloist in Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle and Stabat Mater conducted by Maestro Marc Korovich. His operatic roles include Nemorino in Gaetano Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Mehmed Sokolović in Zajc’s Nikola Šubić Zrinjski, Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and Spoletta in Puccini’s Tosca. Currently Filipović is a member of the opera ensemble in the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, where he has performed Ismaele in Verdi’s Nabucco, Alfred in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Alfredo Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata, and the Duke of Mantova in Verdi’s Rigoletto. In 2023, he won second prize at the 41st International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Dortmund and received the Young Musician of the Year Award for 2023 from the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra.
