Marta Kristín Friðriksdóttir

Marta Kristín Friðriksdóttir is an Icelandic soprano born in 1996. She is currently completing her Master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria. She has performed as a soloist in Schmidt’s Das Buch mit 7 Siegeln in Musikverein, Vienna, with conductor Manfred Honeck, and the Neue Stimmen masterclass final concert in Gütersloh, Germany. Her roles include Baronessa Eugenia in Paisiello’s La Molinara in Schloss Rheinsberg, Germany, with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin orchestra and conductor Bernhard Forck, and Ilia in Mozart’s Idomeneo in Schloss Schönbrunn, Vienna, with the Webern Symphony Orchestra and conductor Christoph U. Meier. During her studies, Marta has performed numerous roles in Mozart’s operas, such as Ilia, Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Pamina and Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute), as well as the title role in Händel’s Rodelinda and Taumännchen in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. In 2023, she won second prize in the Havets Röst competition in Åland. She is also a multiple main prize winner (gala concert soloist, role and lied concert soloist) in the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg competition in 2023.
