Marie Sofie Jacob is a German coloratura soprano born in 1995. She graduated from the University of Arts in Berlin in 2022. Jacob debuted at Staatsoper Unter den Linden in 2022 with the role of Taumännchen in Humperdinck’s Hänsel and Gretel, followed by the lead role of Franziska Dehke in Jost’s The Arabian Night, Karolka in Janáček’s Jenůfa and Crete in Mozart’s Idomeneo under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. Other roles include Lisa in Léhar’s The Land of Smiles at Neuköllner Oper, Konstanze in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail Taschenoper Lübeck, Frau Fluth in Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor at Brandenburger Theater, and the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Theater für Niedersachsen in 2024. In 2021, she was a semifinalist at Helmut Deutsch Competition and a finalist at Anton Rubinstein Competition.
At the moment she is finishing her degree in voice therapy and also working as a vocal coach.
