Johannes Pessi

Johannes Pessi is a Finnish baritone born in 1993. He is currently completing his Master’s at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. His roles include Eisenstein in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (Sataooppera, 2023), Papageno in Mozart’s The Magic Flute (Musiikkitalo, Helsinki, 2022), Zupan in Kálmán’s Gräfin Mariza (Operart, 2022), and Filippo in Rossini’s La Gazzetta (Musiikkitalo, Helsinki, 2022). Lied and concert performances include Sibelius’ 7 Lieder op. 13, Schumann’s Dichterliebe, Poulenc’s Le bal masqué, Bach’s Cantatas BWV 81, 62, 61, 212, and 211, and concerts with orchestras such as Pori Sinfonietta, Lohja City Orchestra and the Sibelius Academy orchestra.
