Jaeil Kim is a Korean tenor, born in 1988. After studies in his home town of Seoul, he moved to Germany and joined the opera class of the Theaterakademie August Everding. Since the autumn of 2017 he has been with the studio of the Frankfurt Opera and has performed a number of smaller roles. In the 2018/19 season in Frankfurt he has sung the roles of Rodrigo in Verdi’s Otello and a Shepherd in Strauss’s Daphne. He has sung Roberto in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda at the Freiburg Opera, and Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata in Seoul. In concert he has performed Monteverdi’s Vespers, Bach’s St Matthew Passion, Händel’s oratorio Messiah and Haydn’s Theresienmesse.
