Iris Candelaria

Iris Candelaria is a Finnish soprano born in 1995. She graduated from the Sibelius Academy in 2022, studying under Annika Ollinkari. She furthered her training with Irina Gavrilovici from 2021, and took masterclasses with Dale Fundling and Soile Isokoski. Her roles include the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Finnish National Opera in 2022–2023, Sacerdotessa in Verdi’s Aida, and Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Savonlinna Opera Festival. She has also performed in various roles at the Sibelius Academy and as a soloist with the Eloa Culture Company. She won first prize and the audience award at the Lappeenranta singing competition in 2023, and first prize at the Timo Mustakallio singing competition in 2019. Candelaria currently participates in the Finnish National Opera Young Singers’ Programme.
