Hyunju Ha is a South Korean soprano born in 1993. She is currently pursuing her ‘Konzertexamen’ studies under Professor Yvi Yänicke at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree from the Korean National University of Arts, she attained a Master’s degree and a Professional Studies Diploma under the mentorship of Arthur Levy and Lucy Arner from the Mannes School of Music.
In South Korea, she performed as the 1st Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Seoul Arts Center and as Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore. In New York, she participated in various opera scene concerts, portraying roles such as Manon in Massenet’s Manon, Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Konstanze in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Adina in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore, and Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème. Ha was the soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah at Teatro Grattacielo and in Haydn’s Die Schöpfung with the New York Christian Society. In 2022, she won second prize in the Century Opera International Competition in the United States. In 2023, she was one of the candidates in The Queen Elisabeth competition in Brussels, Belgium, and a semi-finalist in the Ricardo Zandonai International Competition in Italy.
