Kristine Nowlain is a Swedish soprano who was born in San Francisco in 1989. She moved to Sweden in 2012 and graduated from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 2018. She is currently attending the Malmö Opera Academy. Her roles include, for example, Maria in Bernstein’s West Side Story, Despina from Così fan tutte and Belle in the musical Beauty and the Beast. She enjoys performing contemporary music and has given the Scandinavian première of a song cycle by Judith Weir.
