Rodrigo Sosa Dal Pozzo

Rodrigo Sosa dal Pozzo is an Italian-Venezuelan counter-tenor born in 1989. He initially trained as a conductor in Austria before commencing his singing studies in Switzerland and Sweden. He has won prizes in the Barcelona Tenor Viñas Competition, the Renata Tebaldi Competition in San Marino and Innsbruck Cesti Competition for Baroque Opera. He has sung twelve opera roles, four of which have been written specially for him. His first role was as the Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas when he was seventeen. On the recording ‘Pure Haute-contre’, issued in 2017, he appears both as a soloist and as a conductor. His repertoire includes roles for mezzo-soprano and soprano, French counter-tenor parts and Italian roles for high tenor. He has sung at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, Theater an der Wien, Innsbruck Festival of Early Music and Confidencen in Stockholm.
