Sonja Šarić is a Serbian soprano born in 1990. She studied singing at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and is currently working at the Graz Opera Studio. She was awarded a gold medal in the Maria Callas Competition and she won first prize at the Anneliese Rothenberger Competition. She has sung the title role in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda (Ostrava) and participated in a performance of Strauss’s Rosenkavalier conducted by Sir Simon Rattle (Baden-Baden). She has also sung the title role in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut in a version for children (Baden-Baden), Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro (Bamberg), Madame Cortese in Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims and Nedda in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci (Graz). She has been a soloist in numerous oratorios and passions, and has also given Lieder recitals.
