Megan Moore is a mezzo-soprano from the USA, born in 1990. She studied at the Eastman School of Music in New York and the Miami University of Oxford, OH. In the autumn of 2019 she will commence an Artist Diploma in Opera Studies at the Juilliard School in New York. She has a coloratura voice that is well suited to bel canto roles, as shown by her performances as Rosina in Rossini’s Barber of Seville and the title toles in Rossini’s La Cenerentola and Massenet’s Cendrillon. She has also sung male characters such as Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel and Arsamene in Handel’s opera Xerxes. Among her other roles Blanche in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, Mercédès in Bizet’s Carmen and Costanza in Haydn’s L’isola disabitata. Megan Moore is a founding member of the Lynx Project, the aim of which is to broaden the classical song repertoire and perform it outside the concert hall.
