Marianne Croux is a Belgian/French soprano born in 1991. She trained at the Paris Conservatoire and studied as an exchange student at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. With the Lyon Opera Studio she took the role of a maid in Strauss’s Elektra and at the Grange Festival she sang Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen; in addition, she has performed in many contemporary operas. Croux made her debut in the Opera de Paris as the convicted woman in Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District by Shostakovich. She is an active chamber musician and has appeared in Lieder recitals with piano at festivals in Belgium, Russia and Israel. In 2018 she reached the finals of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium, and won the sixth prize as well as the Audience Prize. Since the autumn of 2017 she has been a member of the Paris Opera Academy.
