Yi-An Chen

Yi-An Chen is a tenor born in Taiwan in 1989. After studies in his native country he moved to Switzerland and continued his training at the Geneva Conservatory, then the opera faculty of Bern University and finally privately in Zürich with Scot Weir. He has gained much experience of working with orchestras as a soloist in oratorios, musicals and operas. Among his roles have been Elviro in Bellini’s La Sonnambula, Yamadori in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, the Fourth Jew in Strauss’s Salome, Peppe in Donizetti’s Rita and Bill in the musical Kiss me Kate. He has also performed traditional Taiwanese music, for example at the Edinburgh Festival.
